Start of Hydrodynamic Bearing Production in Thailand
With the start of its joint venture (in China) with Nidec Corporation
(Nidec) for the production of fluid dynamic bearing (FDB) units, NTN Corporation(NTN)
has decided to start production of sintered-alloy “hydrodynamic bearings”,
which are a core part of FDB units, at it 100% owned subsidiary in Thailand,
NTN Manufacturing Thailand, Co., Ltd (NMT).
NMT is proceeding with expanding its buildings for the start of hydrodynamic
bearings and plans to complete this expansion in September 2002 and start
production in December 2002. Plans are to supply the hydrodynamic bearing
production at NMT primarily to the joint venture NTN - Nidec (Zhejiang)
Corporation in China.
