NTN will run a booth showcasing the latest technology and exhibiting a range of products that contribute to a lighter weight and lower fuel consumption through higher efficiency and higher load for next-generation vehicles, including electric vehicles (EV), with the theme “providing greater comfort to people and vehicles. NTN's advanced technology for the future.” A special display corner set up in a separate location from the booth will have EV equipped with NTN's In-Wheel Motor System on display. |By-Wire System Concept
A wire-frame model of the By-Wire System Concept and associated videos will be on display, bringing together a collection of electrification technologies that NTN has developed for driving, stopping and turning for next-generation EV.
Individual systems being exhibited in detail include the “One Motor Type Electric Vehicle Drive System,” “In-Wheel Motor System,” “Electromechanical Brake System” and “Steering System for Steer-by-Wire”.
|Hub bearing for Severe Environment(see here for details)
Also on display will be the hub bearing for severe environment, which improves resistance against load, protection against penetration of muddy water, and resistance against fretting at extremely low temperatures, and designed for use on unpaved roads often found in emerging markets and other regions.
|Deep Groove Ball Bearing for High Thrust Loads(see here for details)
With a more optimized internal structure, this deep groove ball bearing increases high-thrust load resistance by three-times that of standard items. Replacing tapered roller bearings with these bearings delivers lower torque, while also eliminating the need for pre-compression control required of tapered roller bearings or angular contact ball bearings.
|Next Generation High Efficiency Fixed Type CVJ CFJ(see here for details)
This is a next generation high efficiency fixed type CVJ CFJ that uses a proprietary spherical cross groove structure to drastically reduce internal frictional forces. Torque loss has also been decreased over a wide range of operating angles, which can greatly improve fuel efficiency, particularly in cars such as SUVs. The degree of temperature increases has been reduced at high rotational speeds as well, which allows the joints to also be used for propeller shafts.
|Self-formed Seal Low Torque Deep Groove Ball Bearing(see here for details)
This ball bearing employs a newly developed seal that self-forms minute gaps between the inner ring and seal. This design prevents penetration of foreign objects into the bearing that reduce its operating life, while also reducing rotational torque by up to 80% and supplying ample lubrication throughout the bearing with up to five-times the lubrication flow compared to conventional contact type bearings.
|Press Cut Spline Hub Joint(see here for details)
A joint that helps to reduce weight drastically and deliver higher performance with a new joint method developed based on NTN's high technical capabilities as a manufacturer of both hub bearings and CVJs. The newly developed product can be used on automobile manufacturer assembly lines without having to change the current 3rd generation hub bearing and CVJ assembly process in use today.
|High Speed and Low Torque Deep Groove Ball Bearing(see here for details)
A ball bearing that uses a “Low Torque Plastic Retainers Capable of High Speeds” to maintain reliable, low torque operation at high speeds with oil lubrication, capable of DN up to 1.2 million. The use of a shield shape on the side of the retainer limits the quantity of grease flowing into the bearing to drastically reduce stirring resistance. The internal design of the bearing has also been optimized to reduce rolling viscosity resistance, which helps to reduce torque by 50% or more compared to conventional products.
