Development of High Efficiency Fixed Type Constant Velocity Joint ‘EUJ-S’
[Small size and light weight constant velocity joint with capabilities of reducing torque transmission loss by 30% and responding to high working angle (50°) ]
NTN Corporation (hereafter NTN) has developed a world top level small size, light weight and high efficiency fixed type constant velocity joint ‘EUJ-S’, which reduces its torque transmission loss by approx. 30%, comparing with a conventional high working angle (50°) constant velocity joint ’EUJ’.
In recent years, power train parts require weight reduction and low energy loss for the fuel saving of cars. In response to this, NTN manufactures ‘EUJ’ in the NTN product line up of ‘E series constant velocity joints’, featuring small size, light weight and high transmission efficiency. This ‘EUJ’ achieves reduction of torque transmission loss by approx. 40%, when compared with conventional ‘UJ’.
‘EUJ-S’ newly developed this time attains further reduction of toque transmission loss by approx. 30% (approx. 60% reduction, when compared with UJ), Its high efficiency is achieved by reduction in friction loss by means of optimization of the internal design, surface modification, and use of newly developed grease etc..
NTN will be supplying this product globally, amid the mounting demands for fuel saving of cars.
