NTN Iwata Works Commended for its "Green Fundraising"
by the Shizuoka Prefectural Society for the Advancement of Greening

NTN Iwata Works was awarded a certificate of appreciation by the Shizuoka Prefectural Society for the Advancement of Greening for "Green Fundraising".

At NTN Iwata Works, as part of "all-employee activities for taking care of the regional greenery", employees have come together as one and proactively engaged in (1) Regional forestation activities, (2) Green fundraising activities, and (3) Green volunteer activities. The award is in recognition of the plant's Green fundraising activities. Employees donated funds collected each year to seedling planting in the "Forest making event" and also donated to the Shizuoka Prefectural Society for the Advancement of Greening through Iwata City. The Green volunteer activities resulted in the planting of 1000 azaleas over three years in Satoyama or local woodlands in Iwata City and employees worked together with local youth organizations and individuals in the region for the beautification and maintenance of Satoyama.

Certificates of appreciation from the Shizuoka Prefectural Society for the Advancement of Greening have been awarded since the enactment of the "Green Fundraising Law" of 1995 to organizations that have contributed ¥500,000 and over. They were presented at the general meeting on February 15, 2006 to 19 organizations in the prefecture.
