NTN will run a booth at “Automotive Engineering Exposition 2014 Nagoya” with the theme “New technology to create a better tomorrow - NTN supporting monozukuri.”
The booth will feature exhibits of module products as well as composite products, next-generation EV system products and other the state of the art technologies that contribute to electrification, lower fuel consumption and higher efficiency.
We look forward to seeing you at the event.
Main exhibits
<Proposed module products for electrification, lower fuel consumption>
Mechanical Clutch Unit (MCU) for Next-generation Steering
Compact steer-by-wire clutch product that combines an electromagnetic clutch and roller clutch. A high load capacity design ensures a high level of reliability when the mechanical link is active.
Ball Screw Drive Module for Electric Hydraulic Brake
Compact drive module product that combines support bearings and sintered materials for a high load capacity ball screws. It converts rotational motion of the motor accurately to linear motion, with more accurate control of brake force providing a greater amount of driving energy, contributing to a longer driving range.
<Proposed cutting edge technologies and products for lower fuel consumption and higher efficiency>
High Performance Lightweight Hub Joint
Hub joint that uses a proprietary press connect method for a lightweight design and no backlash in spline joints. The bolt connection structure between the CVJ and 3rd generation hub bearing makes assembly possible on the vehicle production line.
BEARPHITE CL
An iron-based sintered bearing with a small quantity of unique copper powder, and special material composition to form a specially designed copper layer on the bearing surface for the same or better sliding performance than bronze bearings. The iron-based design has a higher material strength than bronze bearings, as well as outstanding wear-resistance.
<Proposed system products for electric vehicles (EV), hybrid vehicles (HEV)>
Electromechanical Brake System with Parking Brake
A braking system that operates the brake pads with an electric motor and separate linear drive mechanism for finer and safer brake control. Regenerative braking coordinated control helps to improve electrical efficiency of EV and HEV. The addition of a parking brake function further increases convenience.
Rear-wheel Independent Steering System
A steer-by-wire steering system that converts the steering amount of the steering wheel to an electrical signal to drive the wheel-turning actuator according to the amount, and changes the direction of the tires, has been applied to the rear wheel steering. It is also capable of toe angle control while consisting of a left-right combined-type steering layout, contributing to better driving performance.
